Heir Island Regatta is a yearly highlight on the West Cork sailing calendar. It is customarily a day when locals visit the island to take in the action on the water, have a picnic on the beach, and partake in the BBQ and lively scenes ashore. Lisheens House is a community centred mental health charity that received a generous amount of €1,500 from this year’s event as one of four selected beneficiaries. Lisheens House is non-government funded and totally reliant on such events to provide free counselling, training and support for those in a mental health crisis throughout all Cork city and county.
